Heaphy Track
Spanning from Golden Bay to the very tip of inhabited West Coast The Heaphy is one geographical fun outing. Going from the nikau forest coastal hike to tussocky alpine plateau it has a bio-diversity that puts you in green foliage ecstacy. Along with massive land snails ('powelliaphanta') and a wild coast the Heaphy boasts over half of NZ's native plant species including 80% of its alpine species.
